24th Photography Scavenger Hunt

One of the good things that came from Google+ is the Photography Scavenger Hunt, originally organized by Chrysta Rae, and since then taken over by Lauri Novak.

A few times a year, there’s a “call to Scavengers” – people subscribe to the Hunt (there’s a limited number of spots; in practice I don’t think the Hunt has been full in the past few editions at least), a list of 7 words is provided, and everyone has a few weeks to shoot and submit pictures that correspond to each word (one picture per word).

The 24th Scavenger Hunt was the seventh in which I took part – all of my previous entries are on my SmugMug profile.

For this edition, since I want to get more content on my blog, well, that’s exactly what I am doing by presenting my entries along with a few words of explanation 🙂

Essen SPIEL 2018

Ce billet a Ă©tĂ© publiĂ© en français ici : Essen SPIEL 2018 (en français)

We went, for the fourth time, to Essen in Germany for the SPIEL fair (and that was the 36th SPIEL fair, if I’m not mistaken). SPIEL (or, as we tend to call it, Essen, although Essen conference center hosts a lot more things than that… I hear they have a car fair as well :P) is THE fair for all board game players in Europe – 4 full days and, this year, 190 000 visitors – that’s quite a few people.

Welcome!

So. Google+ is dying, and that makes me sad, because, YES, there was people using Google+, and I was one of them. This means: I feel the need to find a place to publish stuff, and I don’t believe that social media in general is the place for that for me. I do have a blog already – https://blog.pasithee.fr – but it’s mostly written in French, and I want to be able to publish both in French and in English. I’m also writing in both languages on https://coincuisine.pasithee.fr, but in the end I think that managing two independent blogs is actually going to be the simplest thing for me (and my few readers) – at least for now.  Hopefully I won’t regret it too much 🙂

I’m not convinced it’s the right move to start another blog while I don’t write on my French blog that much anymore, but we’ll see how that goes. I do have a bit of content that I want to translate back from the French blog, and I do have a few ideas about what I want to write in here, and generally speaking, the worst that can happen is that there exists Yet Another Unmaintained Blog on the Internet… and I can live with that.

So: welcome everyone, put yourself at ease, and stay tuned for the next Real Posts™ 🙂
